Orthopedic PT:
Using a whole-person approach, biomechanics, strength and flexibility are assessed to determine the root cause of why you are experiencing your symptoms and a customized treatment plan is provided. Partnering with you to support all of your goals is the main focus at Kandor PT + Pelvic Health.
Pelvic Floor Therapy
Pelvic floor PT is specialized physical therapy that addresses muscles and connective tissues in the pelvis. It's for issues like pain, incontinence, and prolapse, helping both men and women improve strength, function, and comfort. A happy and healthy pelvis is the foundation to excellent whole body function!
Treating Blocked Ducts & Mastitis Postpartum
Physical therapy can be a very effective, non-invasive treatment for blocked milk ducts and mastitis. The goal is to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and clear the blockage to relieve pain and restore normal milk flow. Use of manual drainage for eliminating edema and lymphatic blockages, in depth education is provided for successfully treating the issue while supporting your lactation journey.
Male Pelvic Health
Pelvic health physical therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy that helps men with a range of issues related to the muscles and tissues of the pelvic floor. These muscles are vital for bladder, bowel, and sexual function. When they are too tight, too weak, or uncoordinated, problems can arise. A pelvic health physical therapist helps by first identifying the root cause of your symptoms, then creating a personalized plan to restore proper function and alleviate pain. This often involves hands-on treatment, targeted exercises, and education.
Women Navigating Perimenopause & Menopause
Declining estrogen levels during perimenopause and menopause have a profound and systemic impact on a woman's body, reaching far beyond the reproductive system. Estrogen is a master regulator that supports collagen, muscle tone, bone density, and has anti-inflammatory properties. When its levels drop, these systems are directly affected, leading to common pelvic and musculoskeletal conditions. Pelvic health PT is able to support your entire body through these changes and optimize your function
Dry Needling
Dry needling is a skilled technique used by physical therapists to treat pain and movement impairments. It involves inserting a thin, sterile needle into a muscle's trigger points or other tight tissues to reduce tension, alleviate pain, and restore function. The goal is to elicit a "twitch response," which helps to release the muscle and improve its ability to move and contract normally. Once the muscle has released, pain and tension are alleviated and movement patterns and function improve. Dry needling is an excellent adjunct to traditional physical therapy strengthening and stretching programming.
Diastasis Rectus Abdominis
Pregnancy dramatically changes the core. We focus on healing and strengthening the abdominal wall to restore deep muscle engagement. This work ensures the central core unit can manage pressure effectively, providing the stable foundation needed to support you through every stage of motherhood.
Pessary Fitting & Management
A pessary can be a great non-surgical tool to relieve the pain and pressure of pelvic organ prolapse, providing comfortable, internal support. Our service includes expert fitting, detailed instruction on insertion/removal, and consistent follow-up, empowering you with the confidence for daily self-management.
